McConnell Announces Senate Vote on Full Repeal Not Replace of The Affordable Care ActAfter facing insurmountable opposition from four Republican senators, the Affordable Care Act repeal bill will be replaced by an effort to repeal the law without a replacement.Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky) announced on Monday, July 17th that the Senate would vote on a two-year delay to fully repeal the ACA. Also on Monday, President Donald Trump called for a complete repeal of the ACA and for legislators to start with a “clean slate”:- A bill from the House of Representatives proposed the two-year delay before fully repealing the previous administration’s health law.- Sens. Mike Lee (R-Utah) and Jerry Moran (R-Kansas) announced on Monday that they would oppose the Senate’s version of repeal. That effectively killed the bill, as it could only afford to lose three Senators. Sens. Rand Paul (R-Ky) and Susan Collins (R-Maine) already announced their opposition to the bill.
